Med/Surg nurses provide comprehensive care for patients who have had an acute illness, surgery, injury, or exacerbation of a disease. Medical Surgical RNs also provide treatment of active complex conditions or for administration of technically complex treatments. Qualified candidates seeking medical surgical nurse jobs take care of patients in a wide variety of conditions including basic health care, as well as some surgery recuperation patients and those hospitalized for acute conditions.
Telemetry nurses provide comprehensive care for p! atients who are seriously ill but do not require critical care! . Diagnostic groups may include patients with dysrhythmia, post care for MI, chest pain, pneumonia, TIA, CHF, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, unstable angina and post-operative patients with anticipated extended stays. Special procedures performed on units may include external pacemaker insertion, post-operative cardiac catheterization care, transesophageal echocardiogram, dobutamine echocardiogram and peritoneal dialysis.
