Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy is required. Doctorate preferred.

Temp must have permanent MT license to practice (temporary license is not allowed for them to work

Must have previous management experience... at least three years.

JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Pharmacy will direct, establish, and plan the overall policies and goals for the hospital's pharmacy services to ensure the safe use of medications and support hospital wide strategic objectives. Directs and coordinates all pharmacy activities, including the purchase, receipt, storage, compounding, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals. As necessary, assists in dispensing medication, and oversees the maintenance of inventory, records, files, and references. Consults with and advises medical staff regarding drugs! and pharmaceuticals. Has 24-hour responsibility. Requires exc! ellent communication skills and establish positive working relationship with physicians and staff throughout the organization. Responsible for provision of quality patient/care services. Directs the hiring process and makes recommendations to management and staff for making the department successful. Participates in Medication Management processes. Develops, recommends, and administers department operating budget. Ensures compliance with government and accrediting organization standards.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Strong computer skills required. Experience with Meditech a plus. Proven ability to understand and apply group purchasing practices. Organizational skills to develop drug distribution programs, computer programs, teaching programs, and pharmacy/purchasing programs. Analytical skills to work with budgets, reports, technical administrative questions. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and critical thinking skills. Ability to ! work in a detail-oriented environment while handling multiple priorities required.

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy required. Master's Degree/Doctorate Degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of management experience in an acute care setting.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Licensed registered Pharmacist in Montana.

Demonstrated understanding of patient satisfaction. Experience with Studer or Disney concepts preferred. Experience with the concept of Shared Governance preferred.
