(1.0 FTE) full-time tenure-track faculty member within the Health Professions - Nursing department to become the Program director for an accredited Certified Medical Assisting Program. This position involves development and teaching of assigned courses, student advising, assisting in placement and follow-up activities, and participation in faculty committees and activities. The Director is responsible for program effectiveness including outcomes, organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development and application for accreditation.
Primary Functions
Develop and teach undergraduate courses related to Medical Assisting.
Write a self-study proposal to successfully acquire Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accreditation.
Advise students
Represent the program to the internal and external community.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with the Healthcare Industry ! for workforce development.
Develop and assess program! curriculum for internal and external review.
Missoula College of The University of Montana Nursing Program is approved by the Montana State Board of Nursing with the Associate of Science degree program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC).

The Missoula College Health Professions Nursing Program currently has 2 tenured faculty and 1 tenure track faculty members and 4 adjunct faculty. There are constant en! rollments of 80 nursing students each semester, 40 students in the PN program and 40 students in the ASN program.

Required Experience
The program director must:
Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred with earned credits in teaching theory, techniques, and evaluation. Instruction in t! eaching theory, techniques and evaluation may include college courses, seminars or in-service sessions on topics such as learning theory, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodology or assessment techniques;
Be credentialed in medical assisting by a credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA);
Have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in healthcare, including a minimum of 40 hours of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures performed by medical assistants;
Have teaching experience in postsecondary and/or vocational/technical education.
