For detail informations about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. 7/2011 Position Summary In this position, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for floating as directed throughout the Labor & Delivery, Mother Newborn, Intermediate Care Nursery, NICU, Pediatrics and PICU units in order to provide care designed to meet individual emergent, urgent and non-urgent patient needs. The RN is responsible for coordinating the patient’s total plan of care, ensures that the patient and family have appropriate information to make health decisions and assists the patient in reaching the ultimate goal of self-care in order to support physical health and the quality of life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Spiritual and Healing Environment Develops a holistic approach to health and wellness by integrating the physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs of each individual throughout the continuum of care and in all settings Develops a therapeutic relationship with the patient/family and creates an environment for healing and learning to occur. Responds to comfort needs of the patient and patient/family requests for health information Clinical Knowledge and Decision-Making Ability Integrates and internalizes theoretical knowledge into clinical expertise Develops focused assessment and critical thinking skills and utilizes evidence-based research to guide practice and enhance positive patient outcomes. Develops and modifies individualized plans of care; communicates changes in the plan of care to the patient and healthcare team. Evaluate patient status and responses to interventions and care, determining progress towards resolution of immediate and long term needs Plan discharge and facilitate patient education activities, clarifying learning needs to optimize patient outcomes Collaboration and Professional Responsibility Participates in collaborative patient care with providers on a daily basis. Works with other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team and the patient/family to assist in the development , updating and/or reinforcement of the patient’s plan of care Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing care and participates in individual and collective activities to improve patient care and the healthcare environment. Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements Requirements are representative of the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current Montana Registered Nurse licensure Current BLS certification Current NRP certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire Current PALS and ENPC certifications or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within 2 years of hire Current Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire (must obtain sooner than 6 months if Labor and Delivery orientation rotation is prior to this date) Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment Experience in understanding and usage of computers and ability to learn new programs
