The RN in the midwife Practice will assist the providers with the examination and treatment of
pati! ents and perform routine tasks required to ensure the clinic runs smoothly; participate in
the planning and evaluation of patient care. Services women of all ages.
Qualifications:
1. Current Montana RN license required.
2. Current Healthcare Provider CPR required.
Minimum two years experience in similar position with a medical setting (e.g., physician office,
clinic, or hospital).
Job Duties:
1. *Performs general nursing duties and specialty procedures. Develops, implements and revises
individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients through the use of the nursing process as
appropriate to licensure, state guidelines, and clinic policies/procedures.
2. *Demonstrates an ability to respond to a changing workload in a positive and professional manner.
Responds to changing workloads and patient conditions by: remaining calm, making objective
assessments, prioritizing, and asking for assista! nce when appropriate.
3. *Transcribes and implements provi! der orders and treatments both verbal and written accurately
and efficiently as noted by chart reviews and observation. Consistently troubleshoots issues
affecting patient care.
4. *Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of infection control procedures; strictly adheres to policies
and procedures; washes hands before and after each patient encounter. Cleans, packages, sterilizes,
and maintains ample supply of sterilized instruments and supplies for procedures. Thoroughly cleans
exam rooms, counter and table tops, per clinic policy.
5. *Teaches and trains using principles of learning and effective methodologies.
6. *Provides individual instruction to patients and families concerning mediations, health and medical
needs via telephone triage and/or patient visit.
7. *Performs clinical testing using a variety of automated and non-automated techniques.
8. Clinic staff have clerical responsibilities that include but are not limited to the fo! llowing:
a. Greet patients and escort them to the exam/procedure rooms.
b. Triage patient telephone calls and provide education.
c. Make appointments for patients with specialists; schedule hospital admissions, outside ancillary
tests and procedures as directed.
d. Assist clerical staff in all clinically/medically related phone calls.
e. Call in prescription messages according to office protocol.
f. Record services rendered on fee tickets and check for accuracy.
g. Assist in charting, filing, telephone answering, and other duties needed to provide better
customer service.
h. Obtain prior authorizations for medications, procedures and referrals as needed.
