Location: Miles City Montana

Description: is at present looking to employ Business/Computer Science Education right now, this position will be placed in Montana. Business/Computer Science Teacher: Typical Duties: Teaches basic & intermediate computer, accounting, and senior life skill courses. Provides instructional input through lectur! e and discussion. Provides individual guidance to students based on grade level, classroom assignments and level of competency. This is accomplished through written and oral communication as well as overall observation and supervision of the students and classroom.

Evaluates student progress through administration of testing and daily assignments. Provide accurate progress reports reflective of actual student achievement, behavior, and progress. Prepares ongoing and dynamic daily/weekly lesson plans which incorporate all aspects of education. Corrects assignments and records in grade book.

Ensures students have learning materials for the day, such as copies, books or handouts. Completes behavior logs. Tracks the progress of individual students on assignments. Plans additional learning activities for students to work in pairs as appropriate to the setting and needs of the students.

Prepares and submits requisitions for supplies, materials and equip! ment for approval. Participates in professional education and ! training opportunities to maintain current licensure and teaching practice. Reads and implements new policy and post orders. Academic Qualifications: The knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a business or media arts endorsement.

A second endorsement is preferable. Two years teaching experience preferable. This position requires the candidate maintains at least 40 annual hours of required training, as required by Department, Divisional and facility policies. A copy of teaching license and endorsement must be included with application.

Supplemental Information: Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility is the State correctional treatment facility for adolescent males committed to the Department of Corrections by ! the Youth Court. Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility provides clinical, nursing, education, recreation, group living and other services to treat the emotional, social and educational problems of these males. The education unit, Pine Hills School, provides educational opportunities to students on a daily basis, 12 months of the year. Instruction ranges from the traditional classroom model to new and innovative models that use experiential or authentic learning opportunities as a basis.
